Brush pickup for 2010 is scheduled during the following weeks: April 5th--May 3rd--June 7th--August 2nd--September 6th--October 4th
GUIDELINES
Please have all brush out at the curb by 7 AM on Monday morning. When pickup week is scheduled we will start at one end of the township on Monday morning and work our way to the other by the end of the week. We cannot guarantee a specific day pickup will take place in any given area.
Tree trimmings up to 6 inches in diameter only will be picked up. Branches must be removed from tree trunks.
No metal in the wood. (Ex. wire, nails, etc.)
Do not tie up bundles or put trimmings in a garbage bag. We prefer to have longer lengths, as they are easier to handle and put into the machine. Please stack brush at the curbside with all the cut ends facing out.
Piles 4 feet or higher will not be accepted. They must be spread out rather than stacked high.
Vines, yard debris, old building materials and fence postswill NOT be taken.
No contractors. Pickup will be limited to residents only. If it appears the brush did not come from the residence it is piled in front of, it will not be picked up.
Roots will be picked up at the same time as brush; however, theymust be cut off and placed in a separate pile. Roots cannot be put through the chipper. Roots bigger than what two men can handle, will not be taken.
We will only take whole trees (branches, trunk and stump) if they are 6 inches or less.(Recommendation: If you have trees to be removed larger than 6 inches, contract with a tree service to take down and remove.)
If a brush pile is not taken, our crew will leave a letter explaining why the pile has been rejected.
Fire wood stacked by the side of the road will be taken and chipped unless it is rotten and dirty. We have no way of knowing if it is out as brush or good fire wood.
Please Keep in mind:
Any small clippings, yard or tree debris that appear as though they have been raked up will not be taken (ex. arborvitae clippings, vines, sawdust, etc.). Not only will vines tangle in the chippers, but if items were raked up there is a good possibility that stones are included in the pile. This too will damage the machines, and are potentially dangerous projectiles for staff feeding brush into the hopper.
Please bag all this type of debris and set it out with your trash.
